I have always found it interesting that we have these outdoor shows and we don't have an outdoor newsprogram, at least I am not aware of one. What would happen if we actually had some skilled outdoor reporters producing real news stories for a weekly news program?
Norcal, you teach journalism. What do you think of the idea? What would it really take for the guys in suits to buy into it? Would it be a good idea? Could we make it work? By we, I mean the industry. Something more than puff pieces on who won the last bass tournament. glg

There's a program that I see from time to time on myoutdoortv.com that offers a short "news" program between episodes. Can't remember who does it, and didn't have the patience to find it this evening, but it's there.
Otherwise, I think a case could be made that such a show would go over... something like the Outdoor Pressroom on TV.
Personally, I've often thought about taking my blog into the VLOG format, but just never took the effort. That's another option.
Phillip, I "think" I've seen it but as I recall it is sort of weak and still focused on puff pieces. But yeah, thank you for reminding me. glg
I think I've heard of the program Phillip mentioned - I believe it's a thinly disguised infomercial (kind of like 95 percent of the shows).
Galen, I think it's a great idea. But quality newsgathering is labor-intensive - it requires skilled staff. And it requires a hard-nosed attitude that might offend some of the sponsors.
That said, I think it would be a REALLY SMART thing to do. I'll think on it more. But the Benadryl's starting to take effect now, so it's nappy time for me. (Yeah, it's spring here already :-)
